Our Core Purpose
The purpose of the APPVA is one that supports the transition, health, well-being, and integration into society of all Veterans and First Responders (that have served as Peacekeepers or Peacemakers) and their families, so that they feel valued and can attain stability in life after service.

Our Core Values
Respect. To respect the contributions made by participants in modern operations and demonstrate this by appointing young veterans to representational positions.
Connect. To connect all stakeholders through services that are purpose built to give professional care, locally and nationally, and to disseminate information from the Commonwealth and states through a two way exchange.
To engage with our members and like-minded organisations so their collective voice is heard by the Commonwealth and states. To engage with DVA in collegial two way dialogue and lead on issues that other ESOs will not address with DVA; be they routine day to day issues or strategic or enterprise issues.

Our Brand Promise
(a) Represent all Peacekeepers, Peacemakers and their families fairly and equally
(b) Provide feedback and communications on advice and issues impacting APPVA members.
(c) Be transparent in communications without bias.
(d) Improve support services to all participants in modern operations and their families,
(e) provide referral services in the areas of advocacy, individual and support network needs to ensure the best qualified support is available through the organisation best suited to deliver it,
(f) develop an informed public opinion on matters related to its purpose and facilitate change to support the vagaries of modern operations, and
(g) preserve the memory and records of those who served, suffered and died for Australia, erect monuments and record the history to their valour, honour and sacrifice
